Born in Crixás, Goiás, Brazil, and currently based in the United States (Las Vegas), Joice Gabriela artistic practice is rooted in memory, identity, belonging, and the continuous process of transformation.

Her connection with stones and crystals began in childhood, shaped by the landscape and history of her hometown. Growing up in a region deeply connected to mining, she was surrounded by the presence of minerals and geological formations from an early age. Her father worked in a mining company in Crixás, and through this connection, she developed a fascination with the stories, textures, and ancient processes preserved within the earth’s materials.

Before dedicating herself to visual arts, Joice built a diverse professional path as a journalist, Human Resources, and model. These experiences expanded her understanding of human narratives, identity, perception, and transformation, elements that continue to influence her artistic language.

Her mixed-media practice explores the relationship between the external world and the internal landscape of human experience. Through crystals, raw stones, shells, minerals, and layered resin, she creates works that investigate memory, resilience, regeneration, and the invisible forces involved in becoming.

For Joice, natural materials are not merely visual elements. They carry geological memory, time, pressure, and transformation. Each stone reflects a process of formation and renewal, mirroring the human journey of adaptation, healing, and reconstruction. Through layers, transparency, fractures, and organic textures, her works reveal the beauty found within change and imperfection.

Inspired by her Brazilian origins and her journey across cultures, Joice creates compositions that explore the search for belonging, the connection with one’s roots, and the continuous reconstruction of identity. Her works reflect the inner landscapes shaped by experiences, transitions, and personal evolution.

Her work exists at the intersection of nature’s ancient memory and contemporary expression, where minerals become narratives and materials become reflections of transformation, resilience, and the human experience.
