Constellations of Arrival Selected for Walking Through the Americas

Joice Gabriela’s mixed-media artwork Constellations of Arrival has been selected for Caminando por las Américas / Walking Through the Americas, a juried exhibition presented in partnership with Clark County Public Arts at the Clark County Government Center in Las Vegas.

The exhibition celebrates cultural heritage, migration stories, and the enduring connections across the Americas. Participating artists were invited to explore themes of migration, identity, transformation, lineage, personal and ancestral journeys, and cultural memory.

Selected works were juried by Olmeca, a hip-hop artist, activist, and scholar whose work engages with culture, history, education, and social transformation.

Born in Brazil and based in Las Vegas, Joice Gabriela creates layered sculptural compositions using crystals, stones, shells, glass, resin, mineral pigments, and textured compounds. Her practice reflects on belonging, resilience, memory, and the ways identity is shaped through movement and lived experience.

Constellations of Arrival, created in 2026, is a 20-inch circular mixed-media work. Its interconnected lines and material layers form a sculptural map of movement and belonging, evoking the visible and invisible ties connecting memory, place, identity, and human experience.
