Artwork The Foundation by Joice Gabriela Selected for BE HOME SOON Exhibition at Clark County Government Center

Brazilian contemporary artist Joice Gabriela has been selected to participate in the exhibition BE HOME SOON, presented at the Clark County Government Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her mixed-media artwork, The Foundation, will be on view from July 20 through August 27, 2026, alongside works by other selected artists exploring themes of home, identity, memory, and belonging.

Measuring 24 × 24 inches, The Foundation is created with epoxy resin, river stones, sand, mineral pigments, and sculptural textural compounds on a rigid panel. The work is part of Joice Gabriela's ongoing artistic research into transformation, resilience, and the emotional landscapes that shape human identity.

Through natural materials and layered textures, The Foundation invites viewers to reflect on the idea of home beyond its physical definition. Rather than representing a specific place, the artwork explores home as something carried within us, formed through memories, experiences, relationships, and the paths we choose throughout life.

The work continues themes explored in Joice Gabriela's series Fragments of Becoming, examining how personal history, movement, and transformation become the foundation upon which identity is built. Stones embedded within the composition symbolize resilience, permanence, and the traces left by every journey, while the textured surface evokes the complexity of rebuilding oneself over time.

"I am deeply honored to have The Foundation selected for this exhibition," says Joice Gabriela. "This work is a reflection on belonging and on the invisible structures that sustain us. Home is not only where we come from, it is also what we carry within ourselves."
