Expressions of Clark County: Joice Gabriela Presents Constellations of Arrival
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA —
I am honored to participate in Expressions of Clark County: Commemorative Exhibition of the 250th Anniversary of the United States, held at the Rotunda Gallery within the Clark County Government Center in Las Vegas.
The exhibition is organized by Clark County Public Art, Nuwu Art, and the Nevada Chinese American Association, and brings together 27 artists, including 24 visual artists, 2 musicians, and 1 dancer.
My work, Constellations of Arrival, was selected to reflect on the 250th anniversary of United States independence, to be celebrated in 2026. Through a visual language composed of crystals, glass, stones, and light elements, I explore the idea of America as a living constellation shaped by human journeys, cultural diversity, and shared memories.
As a Brazilian artist based in the United States, my practice is centered on emotional cartography, transformation of materials, nature, memory, and human connection. I am interested in how identity is continuously shaped by movement, encounters, and lived experience.
In Constellations of Arrival, I translate this perspective into a poetic structure where material and light become a way to think about belonging, migration, and interdependence.
“As a Brazilian artist living in the United States, I see identity as something in constant transformation. Constellations of Arrival reflects this collective construction formed by encounters, migrations, and shared experiences. I am grateful to represent Brazil in this exhibition in the United States.”
