Quartz Vein (2026)

Dimensions: 24 x 24 in

Medium: Mixed media with resin, glass, mineral pigments, and sculptural textural compounds.

Quartz Vein is inspired by the formation of crystalline veins within the earth, where pressure, time, and transformation give rise to structures of remarkable strength and beauty. At the center of the composition, a luminous quartz vein emerges as both a geological presence and a metaphor for the resilience that develops within us throughout life.

Like mineral formations hidden beneath the surface, personal growth often occurs through processes that are not immediately visible. Experiences accumulate, challenges leave their marks, and over time these fragments come together to form something stronger and more integrated. The crystalline vein reflects this journey, suggesting that transformation is not the absence of fracture, but the result of what is rebuilt through it.

The textured surface captures and refracts light, creating subtle shifts in perception and inviting closer observation. Surrounding the central formation, small black and white cloud-like forms move across the composition. These elements represent the different phases we experience throughout life, moments of uncertainty and clarity, loss and renewal, change and growth. Like passing clouds, they remind us that no state is permanent and that transformation is a continuous part of being human.

Drawing from the language of geology and the enduring presence of quartz, the work reflects on the parallels between the earth's formations and our own inner landscapes. Quartz Vein is ultimately a meditation on resilience, regeneration, and the quiet strength that emerges when we embrace change and continue moving forward.
